Dengue

Our family despise mosquitoes!

When we were kids, we grew up in a house with windows covered by screens and doors by aluminum screen doors.  If my mom sees a single mosquito inside the house, we would leave the house for a couple of hours and she would ask our helper to close all the windows and doors and to spray the whole house with Baygon.  Baygon became a common noun since we always refer to mosquito killers as Baygon.

Back in the days, mosquitoes are not as deadly as now.  We hate mosquitoes then because they leave marks on our skin.  Now, because they might be carrying dengue.

While we still have the screens doors and windows, we protect the kids with Off! Spray.  We have the Off! sprayed on their outerwear and legs, especially when they would be going to the garden or clubhouse.

We have Off! Sprays as necessities.  However, the price of Off! here in Manila is so expensivo, about P75 for a very small atomizer so we get our Off! from our relatives in USA and Canada.

From my recent trip to the USA, my sister gave me these --Off! Family Care!

Off! Family Care

Unscented and Aloe Vera

Travel Spray

Towelettes

I shared a few cans to mom and wowa.

I know we cannot just rely on Off! so we try to avoid places which we know are mosquito-infested.  We also make sure the kids are covered every time they leave the house. I am also worried of the chemical contents of products such as Off! but what can we do?

Oh, dengue. Please spare us!
